Ghostrunner 2 Announced For PC, Xbox Series and PS5

Publisher 505 Games and One More Level, the lead developer for the first game, have announced that Ghostrunner 2 is in development.

While the original game was released on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, Ghostrunner 2 has been announced as targeting PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Polish developer One More Level (God’s Trigger, Deadlings) are returning to develop the sequel. No information on a release window, the possibility of a Switch version or trailer is available yet.

The original Ghostrunner is a cyberpunk parkour action game about running along walls and slicing up opponents. Described by some as “Mirrors Edge but with combat that’s actually good”, the game received positive reviews upon its release. It was a favourite of our critic Greg over on his Twitch channel. During its first four months of release, Ghostrunner sold more than 600,000 copies.

Even though development on Ghostrunner 2 has begun, support for the original game is set to continue. Via DLC, owners of Ghostrunner will be experience new levels and game play modes throughout 2021. This will culminate in an next-gen release this Autumn for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The upgrade will be free for existing owners of the game.
