Remastered Classic Ys Memoire: The Oath In Felghana Gets A Release Date

You’re probably not even dried off from taking the latest plunge into the Viking-infested waters of Ys X Nordics – It’s been out four whole days. But just like they did with the last Trails titles, Falcom has announced the next Ys title before you’ve broken the surface of the last one. Striking while the iron is hot is just Falcom’s style at this point. This time it’s a remastered release of a remake of Ys III – or The Oath in Felghana as it came to be called in 2005 when released on the PSP. Check out the trailer for more.

Pretty nice from a chronological player’s perspective, as you can go right from Ys Nordics, via Ys Memories of Celceta, to Oath in Felghana, all now available on modern platforms and in Western markets. That is if you’ve got time to fit in Celceta between now and the 7th January 2025! They said ‘Early 2025’ for quite some time, and considering Trails From Daybreak II launches on February 14th, we thought that was going to mean after February at least. As a fan it’s almost hard to fit in any other games at all! Come to think of it, maybe that’s their entire business model? We did say the rest of 2024 was Falcom, perhaps 2025 is Falcom as well.

From the Press Release –

Marvelous Europe today announced that acclaimed RPG developer Nihon Falcom’s remastered classic, Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, will be released in Europe and Australia for the Nintendo Switch system, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 on Jan. 7, 2025 digitally and with a physical release available on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 through participating retailers.

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana follows thrill-seeking protagonist Adol and his blue-haired companion Dogi as they return to Dogi’s homeland of Felghana. The eight years they’ve been away have not been kind to the lands, which are now filled with roaming monsters, a newly active volcano, and a greedy overlord extorting the suffering residents. While Dogi seeks help from his former master, Adol remains to help the locals, only to find himself embroiled in a world of conspiracies and ancient legacies.

With remastered high-definition visuals and music, the epic adventure has never looked or sounded better. Additional features include multiple versions of the sweeping soundtrack, accessibility options, and brand-new character illustrations, making Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana the definitive edition of the acclaimed masterpiece.

It’s also said to feature Falcom’s trademark ‘turbo’ modes and other quality-of-life enhancements they’ve been giving their rereleases for a while now.

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, will be released on January 7th, 2025 for the Nintendo Switch system, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4.
