Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is only a month away, and we can't wait. Watch the new gameplay and combat trailer to see why:

It’s been a long time since we’ve have had an Armored Core game. Despite it being a popular series back in the day, FromSoftware have instead focused on putting out their popular Soulsborne titles. But now, ten years later, the super-frenetic-mecha-combat series is back.

Following on from the likes of Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon looks like it’s going to blow our socks off with its equally balletic combat. Armored Core, daft American spelling aside, has always been fast and furious with its battles, but Fires of Rubicon looks to step it up a notch.

Throughout the thirteen-minute video, fans get to see a taster of things to come. From the Press Release:

Success in ARMORED CORE VI: FIRES OF RUBICON will come from tinkering with highly customisable mech builds, a signature feature of the series, and learning the best strategies and techniques such as staggering enemies with the right weapons, combining ranged and melee attacks, and taking every advantage in battle.

ARMORED CORE VI: FIRES OF RUBICON, the latest high-octane action game by FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., promises fast-paced mech action with intense omni-directional battles, in-depth customisation, and thrilling boss fights.

Personally, I’m excited. I initially wasn’t, Armored Core having dropped off my interest over the years. But now that I’m a Soulsborne fan, specifically more the fast-paced action of Bloodborne and Sekiro, consider me eager to see how this does. Do you have any fond memories of the series, or will this be your first foray into the world of giant combat robots? Let us know, and keep an eye on Finger Guns for more news as it comes in.

ARMORED CORE VI: FIRES OF RUBICON is set to release on 25th August for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, and is available for pre-order. For the UK collector, a limited edition version is available here.
