Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge announced

This is perhaps the best news we’ve heard today: the heroes in a half shell are coming back! Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is coming to PC and consoles later this year, from the team behind Streets of Rage 4. Now that’s something to look forward to.

As you probably know The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have had their fair share of video games. From NES to more recently the PS4, but I think it’s right to say the best game from the green ninjas is Konami’s Turtles in Time. But that was back in 1991, it’s about time we got something faithful and new. Reshelled doesn’t count.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is aiming to carry on that nostalgic fun we remember well. It looks fantastic, with brand new sprites inspired by the original cartoon and not the god-awful Michael Bay films.

There isn’t a great amount of detail released but the a brief story appeared on the Steam page: “Shredder and Krang have hired underlings to attack Channel 6 News in an effort to steal some tech for an undoubtedly evil plan. The ninja turtles have to fight to save April and stop the fiend from fulfilling his vision.”

If Streets of Rage 4 is anything to go by, this has the potential to continue where Turtles in Time left off. Streets of Rage 4 was one of my games of the year for 2020, so let’s hope this lives up to that standard.
