Armored Core VI – Release Info & Gameplay Trailer
After Armored Core VI’s exciting announcement during The Game Awards last year, the next question aimed at FromSoftware was when? With an incredibly atmospheric cinematic trailer, it really felt like we were a little while away from seeing more from the game. Thankfully we are wrong, as Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon is out on 25th August 2023
It appears FromSoftware isn’t slowing down off the heels of the award-winning Elden Ring as they return to their 10-year dormant franchise with Armored Core VI. The game sees you once again in fast-paced mech battles filled with in-depth customisation and epic boss fights. Check out the trailer below:
A mysterious new substance called “Coral” was discovered on the remote planet, Rubicon 3. As an energy source, this substance was expected to dramatically advance humanity’s technological and communications capabilities. Instead, it caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and the surrounding stars in flames and storms, forming a Burning Star System. Almost half a century later, Coral has resurfaced on Rubicon 3, a planet now contaminated and sealed off by the catastrophe. Extra-terrestrial corporations and resistance groups fight over control of the substance. The player infiltrates Rubicon as an independent mercenary and finds themselves in a struggle over the substance with the corporations and other factions.
Featuring highly mobile and highly customisable mechas, ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON will put players in fast-paced battles where they can make full use of offensive and defensive manoeuvres on both land and in the air to overcome foes. To be the most successful and profitable mercenary on Rubicon 3, players must master rapidly changing combat distances, using the environment for protective cover, and omni-directional battles to overcome challenging enemies and situations.

One of the more exciting elements is seeing FromSoftware returning to the Armored Core franchise after releasing a series of award-winning games most known for their action. What lessons have been learned since then? And how will this translate to a potentially new and improved formula in Armored Core VI’s gameplay. Thankfully we don’t have long to find out with its 25th August 2023 release date.
