This week it’s another rough one for news so the gang (the gang being Rossko, Miles, Kat and Josh) get together to talk everything 2024 so far and what our highlights and lowlights have been, along with our possible Game of the Year so far (hint: we all pick exactly the same one). Whilst it’s been a quality year for games so far it’s been a very difficult one for the industry, and we do our best to celebrate what those amazing developers have made for us whilst raising a glass to those who have been unceremoniously removed from their jobs along the way.
In our one bit of news (ironically announced minutes after we finished up last week) we talk the announcement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the brand new iteration of the series and the very first set in Japan. We like what we’re hearing so far coming from the Ubisoft camp about this one, so hopefully there’s plenty to get excited about in this upcoming entry. Will it get the naysayers back on board? We discuss. Oh, and the traditional question quiz returns and it’s absolute bloody chaos from question one as ever. You’ve missed it, right? Tell us you have, we didn’t go through that for nothing, we hope.
In Game of the Week Josh talks about the top down puzzler Paper Trail, Miles has very nearly completed Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II and tells us all about it (along with the super fun Galacticare) and Kat is back on her Dead by Daylight train whilst Ross is getting hyped for the next season of Fortnite. Who knew?!
In recommendations Kat does NOT recommend watching the Uncharted film (we’ve been sayin’), Miles recommends POOLS, a game that’s not a game but is a game but it’s cool (reviewed now on Fingerguns.net!), Josh has been checking out The Curse on Paramount+ whilst Rossko finally gets to talk about Doctor Who for a bloody change and it goes about as well as you can imagine.
