Gamescom – Lords of the Fallen 2 Announced At Opening Night Live 2025

There’s nothing like being one of the best trailers at the top of an Opening Night Live show that goes downhill afterwards. Everyone remembers that Lords of the Fallen II trailer was awesome and then, meh. And boy was it violent, and brutal, and wow those crunchy hits. Actually, probably best you just come back here after watching it below.

You can see from the trailer the ‘brutal executions, extreme gore, and an unapologetically mature-rated experience’ is back, along with a deadlier expanded Umbral realm. Lords of the Fallen is also one of the only Soulslikes to have it’s full campaign available in co-op and Lords II will do this also. The whole awesome thing is back again. The only trouble with cinematic trailers is that I want to know more. Who is the one-eyed old man telling me to go on this mission? Who is the blonde companion lady? What on Axiom is that tentacle creature, and why does it have just no respect for the dead? What has changed in the world of Umbral, is the darkness he speaks of seeping through from the other world?

From the Press Release:

Set 100 years after Lords of the Fallen (2023), Lords of the Fallen II is a standalone sequel built in Unreal Engine 5, featuring two fully explorable worlds, including a deadlier, expanded Umbral realm. Developed in direct response to community feedback, and embracing its unapologetically mature experience with brutal executions and extreme gore, this is dark fantasy without compromise.

With over 10 million players and two major releases, Lords of the Fallen has earned its place as a genre-defining Soulslike. Named “Best Soulslike of 2023” by Fextralife and praised for its V2.0 overhaul earlier this year, the franchise now returns with its clearest vision yet.

“After selling over 2 million units and welcoming over 5.5 million Lampbearers into Lords of the Fallen, it’s clear our comeback was community-powered,” said Marek Tyminski, CEO of CI Games. “With Lords of the Fallen II, we’re going further. In 2024 we proudly announced our deep
commitment to be a player-first studio. The V2.0 update was our promise in action: listen, respond, and deliver. This sequel is built on that same foundation.”
