Long Delayed JRPG Granblue Fantasy Relink Finally Has Release Date
Perhaps the best new information in a lacklustre Gamescom Opening Night Live without many surprises was a very long-awaited announcement for RPG fans. The long-delayed action JRPG Granblue Fantasy Relink (based on the Granblue Fantasy mobile game universe, but telling a new story) has finally got a release date. Yes, it’s been delayed once more into next year, but after seven long years of delays and release windows, an actual concrete date is a glorious thing.
Granblue Fantasy Relink was first announced back in 2016 for the PlayStation 4, and has since had release windows in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Worked on at various points by Platinum Games, it promises an action-heavy reactive combat system, high-end anime graphics and a deep story. CyGames is the main developer and have clearly taken the time needed to perfect what is looking like an absolute gem of an RPG to kick things off next year.
Now also coming to PlayStation 5 (as well as PS4 and Steam), Granblue Fantasy Relink releases on 1st February 2024 worldwide. Of course that also means it’s going up against Persona 3 Reload just a day later – big month if you like your JRPGs. In addition, if you need your fix of Granblue even earlier, CyGames announced a sequel to its very popular beat-em-up called Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, slated for release on 30th November 2023.
