I have a fondness for Souls’ games, and their various iterations and imitators. Some hit, whilst others miss what makes them special. The first Mortal Shell, however mixed it was on reception, got a positive review from me back in 2020. Six years later, a sequel is on the way, and with that its first gameplay reveal trailer has arrived:
Whilst I know we shouldn’t fall for trailer hype, I’m just going to come out and say it looks so good. But then, I’m biased as I liked the first one. So, what do we need to know going in to Mortal Shell II?

“Mortal Shell II is a dark power fantasy in development for more than three years, set to release in 2026 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

We don’t have a release date yet besides this year, but we do know there’s a collector’s edition exclusive to the PlayStation 5 edition coming out. The Mortal Shell II: Revered Edition features a steelbook, an artbook and prints in a lavish boxed edition. Preorders have gone live in certain areas.
