Showcasing the caped crusaders full 87 year history, LEGO Batman begins with a young Bruce Wayne training with The League of Shadows, building allies of iconic characters such as Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman and Talla al Ghul to take on a threat from the DC Super-Villains including Bane (voiced by Matt Berry!), The Penguin, Ra’s al Ghul and of course, The Joker. LEGO Batman, as evident in the trailer, also features that iconic LEGO video game visual style and features a ton of collectibles, puzzles to solve, rewards to collect and surprises ‘down every alleyway’. The game also features a brand new combat system reminiscent of the Arkham games, with his ‘distinctive fighting style and fluid attack chains, counters and takedowns. And of course, Batman can utilise an array of gadgets including the Batarang and the Batclaw, along with – as shown in the trailer – the explosive gel which was so iconic in the Arkham video game series.

Interestingly the game features two difficulty modes – a first for a LEGO game – named Caped Crusader and Dark Knight, the latter being a little more on the tough end for experienced LEGO players and those who fancy an extra challenge.
