The War of The Three Kingdoms Continues With Dynasty Warriors: Origins
What’s better than a 1-on-1 duel to the death? A 1-on-1000 duel to the death, obviously. After the debacle that was Dynasty Warriors 9 and the even poorer Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have returned with a new entry. Massive armies, gigantic scythes, gregarious (definitely historically accurate) characters and entire retinues of fodder ready to be slain.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is aiming to return to the series’ roots, focusing on massive, bombastic battles. Coordination with your allies and deploying tactics effectively will be key, just as much as your ability to slice through 100 troops in one fell swing. In a series first, you’ll additionally take on the role of an unnamed hero, watching the events unfold around you, rather than taking on the role of Cao Cao or Liu Bei yourself.
The Sony State of Play trailer certainly indicates it’ll be an upgraded version of what was a lagging series. Animations look smoother, action that bit tighter. Get ready to live out your Musou dreams as you tear one of the Three Kingdoms a new one.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins will be releasing sometime in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam.
