Well, there we are then.
Microsoft have today announced that their premiere Xbox One X launch title Crackdown 3 is now no longer launching with the system. Instead, it’s going to appear the year after. Because reasons.
Microsoft Studios Publishing general manager Shannon Loftis;
“Crackdown 3 is a hugely ambitious game and we want to ensure we deliver the right experiences all the way through every part of the game, whether that’s campaign, co-op multiplayer or our competitive multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone. Getting the balance right between the three modes is important, and we are going to take the extra development time to ensure that. Gamers can expect Crackdown 3 in Spring of 2018.
I’m proud of the progress and dedication the Crackdown 3 team has shown and their deep passion and love for this IP. We think it deserves the time we’re giving it,”
The game, which was revealed in 2014(!), was originally set to be one of the highlights of the launch line up for Xbox One X, and will now appear in ‘Spring 2018’.
The last we saw of Crackdown 3 was at E3 2017 where we saw very little gameplay footage and instead saw Terry Crewes shouting at us for some reason.
So that’s that. Thoughts?
