And before you get all upset that I’m a PS fanboy, the Playstation UI doesn’t fair much better. Anyway, a new dashboard has rolled out to Xbox Insiders as Microsoft continue to streamline and presumably prepare things for the next generation of Xbox that was announced at E3.
“Based on your valuable feedback, we’ve been continuing to iterate on two key experiences on Xbox, delivering you a faster Home experience and evolving the way we support Xbox voice commands to improve the voice experience.”, said a statement posted to the official Xbox website.
The ethos of the redesign centres around putting high traffic content at the forefront of the homepage allowing for quicker access to services such as Xbox Live and Gamepass.
“Building on these efforts, we are now further evolving the way we support voice commands on Xbox and are moving away from on-console experiences to cloud-based assistant experiences. This means you can no longer talk to Cortana via your headset. However, you can use the Xbox Skill for Cortana via the Cortana app on iOS, Android, and Windows.” Said Bradley Rossetti, Xbox Insider Team Leader.
Unfortunately, we have nothing to show you yet regarding the redesign, but I’m guessing it won’t stray to much from the Windows design ethos to keep all Microsoft things in the same family.
As far as we can tell the update is set to roll out to all users sometimes in the autumn.
