Welcome to Monday the 11th of May’s edition of Finger Guns Quick Fire, your cheat sheet to all of the day’s gaming news.
With E3 down the shitter because of the ‘rona, a tonne of the smaller, boutique publishers and indie developers have teamed together to host their own virtual event – The Guerrilla Collective.
Combining the talents of more than 20 publishers and developers including Rebellion, Raw Fury, Headup and Humble, The Guerrilla Collective will be a three-day showcase of new titles and fan favourites, hosted by Kinda Funny’s Greg Miller. The event will kick off on Twitch (twitch.tv/guerrillacollective) on June 6, with an opening online press event at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT/6 P.m. BST UK Time, continuing on June 7 with a second online press event, and finishing up June 8 with a day of programming that includes live gameplay demos and developer interviews.
The whole event is to be supported by IGNs ‘Summer of Gaming’ and GameSpot’s ‘Play For All,’ and will be closely followed by the Paradox Insider event (11:30AM PT/19:30PM BST) on twitch.tv/Guerillacollective, The PC Gaming Show (12:00PM PT/20:00 BST) over on Twitch.tv/PCgamer and finally the Future Games Show at 2:30PM PT/22:30PM BST at Twitch.tv/gamesradar.
Cyberpunk 2077 is boldly going where no customisation option has gone before – customising your genitals! Direct from the ESRB rating description – “Players can select a gender and customize their character; customization can include depictions of breasts, buttocks, and genitalia, as well as various sizes and combinations of genitals.” Cyberpunk clearly want to be as all-inclusive as possible. In this future you can be transgender or non-binary, or everything in between.
Ubisoft have announced Ubisoft Forward, a digital event taking place on July 12th showcasing brand new reveals, gameplay and more. With so much on their plate to present (Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Skull and Bones, Far Cry, Rabbids, Splinter Cell?), it would appear this is going to an event worth tuning in for. Bubble Bobble 4 is coming to PlayStation 4.
ININ Games and Taito have announced Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is coming to PS4 at the end of 2020 as a physical release and PSN download. The PS4 edition will feature new stages and game modes (the original Switch edition will also receive these in an upcoming update)
In conjunction with the PS4 release, Taito are holding a fan art content, allowing players to submit Bubble Bobble artwork to the official Taito account @TaitoCorp. The winners will have their names in the in-game credits along with their artwork and receive a digital copy of the game.

A brand new console Doctor Who game is coming from the makers of VR title Doctor Who The Edge of Time. Coming to Switch, Xbox One, PS4 and PC, this currently unannounced title will act as the second in a trilogy of games.
Fans can expect new adventures, mechanics and subplots. Oh, and the TARDIS, Weeping Angels, the Daleks and tearing it around with The Doctor, obviously.

Bytten Studio have today announced their new indie open-world RPG that’s part Pokemon, part Persona – Cassette Beasts. Collecting cassette tapes unlock new monster transformations which can be fused with other beasts to create more powerful ones. Cassette Beasts has been announced for PC with consoles and a release date “TBC”.
Quantum League, a time travelling multiplayer shooter from Nimble Giant Entertainment, has a Steam Early Access release date – May 26th. The game, which has also been announced for the Nintendo Switch, will launch on PC with a week long 15% discount.
The latest trailer for Apex Legends Season 5 – Fortune’s Favor highlights the abilities of new character Loba’s skills against the competition. The season launches tomorrow and Loba’s introduction is joined by map changes and new Quests.

After all of our deliberation on what recent recent teases by the Mafia Twitter account could amount too, it seems like the Brazilian, Korean and Taiwan ratings boards have struck again and spoiled 2K’s surprise. Today, as first spotted by twistedvoxel, PS4, Xbox One and Stadia versions of Mafia 2 have been rated. A release or at least reveal can’t be far behind.
Drew McCoy and Jon “Slothy” Shiring, formerly of Respawn Entertainment, have announced the establishment of Gravity Well, a new AAA game development studio based in Los Angeles. The pair had worked for Respawn for just under a decade and both were instrumental in bringing about Titanfall and its sequel. The unique aspect of Gravity Well is that it’s a studio without an office. It’s offering remote working for all it’s available positions. There’s much more on this story over at GameInstrusty.biz.
Industry veterans Bill Wang and David Brevik have today announced the launch of their new video game publishing and development company, Skystone Games. Their first 2 signed projects – Undying, a zombie narrative survival story from developer Vanimals and Spaceline Crew, a madcap co-op space game akin to Overcooked from Brazilian developers Coffeenauts – will launch soon for PC and consoles.
