Mass Effect is being shut down. At least for now.

Report suggests a hiatus is being taken with the series.

Kotaku are tonight reporting that BioWare are straying away from future Mass Effect installments. At least for the time being.

It would seem that in light of the fairy mixed reception to Andromeda, four unnamed sources have states the sci-fi series is being put on hold and will move BioWare Montreal onto other projects as a support studio. This may include work on the new BioWare IP, which looks to have been delayed by EA.

A new report from Kotaku suggests that in light of Andromeda’s woes, BioWare won’t be diving straight into the development of the next Mass Effect installment.

BioWare Montreal will continue Mass Effect: Andromeda report for now, announcing a patch that will continue to improve cinematics.

BioWare Montreal studio director Yanick Roy says;

“Bioware is constantly looking at how we’re prepared for the next experiences we will create. There will be much more to come from BioWare in the years ahead.”
