FGQF – Call of Duty 2020 Outed, Project: Ragnarok, More E3-like Presentations + More

2020's Call of Duty has been named, More The Last of Us Part 2 Gameplay, Perp Games Announce Their Summer Slate and Gears of War 3 running on PS3? It's news time.

There was an idea called Finger Guns Quick Fire. The idea was to bring together a group of remarkable news stories to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when we needed them to, to inform the public in a way that we never could. It’s your news for Wednesday the 20th of May 2020.

Call of Duty 2020 gets a title

After infamous Call of Duty leaker Okami leaked the official title of the next Call of Duty title, Eurogamer has backed it up with their own sources to state the next iteration in the somewhat popular series will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

The title is certainly a little wordy for a CoD game, though the recent 1.2 update for Call of Duty Modern Warfare suggests the open bunkers within its Battle Royale mode Warzone are hiding vehicles and weapons that pertain to the Cold War era. It would seem little teases are all across the map that link back to Black Ops or the Cold War. Too on the nose? It’s CoD, guys. I don’t know what you want from us here.

Will Black Ops developer Treyarch be adding a campaign this time around after Black Ops 4’s story-less release? Time will tell. It would seem Activision are in no rush to reveal this one as Warzone continues to be hugely popular.

Someday You’ll Return developers cuts ‘hours’ of unpopular content out of game post-launch

Someday You’ll Return developers CBE Software have taken the unusual step to remove ‘hours of content’ from the game due to fan feedback.

After reading customer responses, CBE have taken the decision to remove a huge chunk of gameplay, improving the overall experience without affecting the narrative-driven horror experience.

Jan Cavan, CBE Software co-founder;

“After reading feedback from our customers, it became clear to us that some parts of the game, mostly in the second half, were not enjoyed as we had expected them to be. We took a hard look at the game and asked ourselves how we could make it better. While it is very important for us to remain true …

…We realized that some of the content and puzzles were not adding any value to the main game story. It is very important to us that our players have the best game experience, so after careful consideration we cut away hours of superfluous content, making the game better as a whole. Ingenious explorer…

…One of the features some players didn’t enjoy was stealth. To aid those players who dislike stealth, we’ve added a new, in-game potion called “Devil’s Pact”. This potion turns the player almost invisible to enemies during stealth sequences”.

Clunky Hero gets a first trailer

The first trailer has been revealed for Encodya developers Chaosmonga’s new title Clunky Hero.

A story-driven, platformer metroidvania title, Clunky Hero looks to be a humourous adventure for those who like a platformer with a bit of narrative depth.

The artwork is entirely hand-drawn also, so it looks the business.

In a village far, far away, a dull peasant named Rufus was living an ordinary life. The boss of the house was his wife, Brunilde, a boisterously smart and funny woman that you wouldn’t exactly call “pretty”. Life was nice and happy in the village, until one day, awakened by some magical mistake, the Evil One started to spread his minions around town, performing hideous acts against the people. The worst of which was the kidnapping of Brunilde. She was torn from Rufus’ hands and put in a prison at the Evil One’s castle. Transformed into a blondie duck-faced doll girl, she now spends all her time staring at herself in a small handheld mirror.

Determined to win her back, Rufus made a helmet out of a bucket and picked a broom as a weapon. Everybody now calls him the CLUNKY HERO, but he might be the only hope to defeat the evil one that no one wants to call by name. Rufus is now on his journey to save his wife and the whole village!

Have a nose at the trailer below. The game currently is running a Kickstarter which you can pledge to here. There’s also a free demo available on Itch.io.
