Ghost of Tsushima State of Play

At 9PM BST, Sony delivered one of their D̶i̶r̶e̶c̶t̶ State of Play live streams. You can watch it above. This one focuses solely on Ghost of Tsushima. The game looks gorgeous and, for an open world game, seems very innovative. The wind, rather than way points, guide your direction. Jin, the protagonist has several different combat stances which have different damage effects on enemies. The stealth game play, reminiscent of old school Assassin’s Creed, means we won’t need to ask for a feudal Japan entry into Ubisoft’s assassins series either. Sold.

DayZ Becomes One of the Most Played Games on Xbox Game Pass

Bohemia Interactive has revealed that DayZ has become a hugely popular title on Xbox Game Pass after becoming available last week on May 7th. Hundreds of thousands of new players accessed the hardcore survival game and has become one of the most played games on Xbox.

Vojtěch Ješátko, Publishing Director at Bohemia Interactive;

“Xbox Game Pass is a great opportunity for us to open the game to a different audience, and to let a massive number of new players experience DayZ in all its crude harshness and beauty, together with the veterans.

Over the years, DayZ has gone through a difficult development, but at Bohemia Interactive, we never lost faith in the game – so seeing its record player numbers across all platforms is a very rewarding moment for the whole team. For us, it also confirms that DayZ still remains an unmatched and unforgettable survival experience.”

The Darwin Project Shutting Down

Looks like the show’s over for Darwin Project. Developer Scavengers has announced the game will no longer receive updates and will remain online until at least the end of the year.

In a blog post, Scavengers said that despite their best efforts, the player base has shrunk to a point where the game has become unsustainable.

Scavengers wrote in their farewell post;

“Over the past years, we saw a decreasing playerbase, and have been working hard on finding solutions –from a new platform development (PS4) to bringing new content (class system, battle passes, systemic maps, customizable craftwheel, new tiles, live events), spectator interactions extension, and continuous optimizations.

We have assessed all potential solutions and scenarios, but unfortunately, Darwin Project is unable to sustain itself thus forcing us to come to this very difficult decision.”
