The absolutely glorious and bombastic Ion Fury has finally gone and got itself a release date on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Voidpoint’s first-person shooter (published by genre legends 3D Realms), which has already seen huge success on Steam and GOG, comes to consoles on May 14th digitally, with a physical version following on June 26th.
New to Ion Fury? You play as Shelly ‘Bombshell’ Harrison, and it’s up to you to take down a cultist robot army created by Dr. Jadus Heskel, defending the city of Neo D.C. with shiny Loverboy revolvers. Check out the trailer below;
Goes without saying if you grew up with the likes of DOOM and Duke Nukem, you’re going to feel right at home here, working as a terrific entry point into the blaster genre.
Mike Nielsen, CEO of 3D Realms;
“We wanted to make sure the gory fun from the PC version felt just as great on consoles.
We never thought we would see the day where we could use the Build engine on modern consoles, but we think our players will enjoy the efforts of Voidpoint and General Arcade’s fantastic work.”
Look out for much more on the site soon regarding Ion Fury. We’re looking forward to getting our hands on this one.
