I don’t know why, but I get excited by new graphic engine tech demos. The seem to promise so much, which in turn gets the brain ticking over at how good all your favourite games could look. Generally though, they never amount to anything like what was promised. But by 2035 this is what we could be seeing, if not sooner.

This new tech demo is a production between Luminous and NVIDIA, this demo you see below is power by a single GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, what ever that is and runs in real-time with full path-traced ray tracing

I have no idea what any of that means, but the last time I heard the word ray tracing used, it was way back in the days of the Atari ST, when it took like three hours to render a single animation that was retraced. How far we have come.
