Blasphemous continues to look utterly grotesque in the best way possible

Yikes.

We appear to finally have a nailed-on release date for Blasphemous on PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PS4. The utterly barbaric slaughter-em-up will land on September 10th.

From Spanish-based independent developer The Game Kitchen and Team17 – you know, from Overcooked and Yooka-Laylee fame – Blasphemous’ puts you in the shoes of The Penitent One – who’s tasked to overcome a cursed force known as The Miracle. A lot of utter madness appears to then ensue.

The Penitent One will wield a big old sword known as ‘Mea Culpa’, which you can use to slaughter demonic forces throughout the horrific world of Cystodia.

Mauricio Garcia, CEO of The Game Kitchen;

“As we put the final finishing touches to what will be an unrelenting experience for players, we’re really proud to be in a position to confirm the September 10th release date for Blasphemous. We know the game has been highly anticipated for some time, and we can’t wait to unleash The Penitent One on their perilous journey in just a few weeks’ time.”
