Well, this kinda landed out of nowhere.
Left 4 Dead and Evolve developer Turtle Rock Studios have just dropped a huge AAA-sized bomb, announcing that it’s partnering with Warner Bros a brand new co-op first person shooter called Back 4 Blood.
Currently aiming for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC, there’s no screenshots or video or even a logo just yet but the press release seems to suggest that this game is primarily aiming for release on next-gen systems, and will possibly, maybe, be a cross-gen title.
The game is described as being ‘designed from the ground-up as an original, premium title’ that ‘marries the best of Left 4 Dead with new features and state-of-the-art technology. Effectively it’s a next-gen Left 4 Dead without being Left 4 Dead and with some new features made with some new shiny tech.
Turtle Rock themselves in the same press release states that Back 4 Blood will be the ‘biggest challenge in the company’s history’, so they’ve already got us very excited. Their ambition for this one seems legit, and we can’t wait to see what on earth they’ve got cooking.
