Stil, that didn’t stop F1 fan Tim Binnion from dusting down his forgotten Game Boy Camera and take it to a race to snap some shots. Kudos to him for doing this, it’s not every day you get to go to an F1 race in person. If you are lucky enough you would want to take some of the best photos you could to remember the experience. Tuns out the Game Boy Camera is probably the best camera he could have taken as the results are quite fantastic.

How did Tim go about taking such great images. Well, he bought a clip on mobile phone lens, 3D printed a bracket to hold it on to the Gameboy and an external memory card to save the pictures on. Genious

Now I know what you’re all thinking, these pictures look garbage, and you’re not wrong the Gameboy Camera is utter toilet but look at the images. They are a wonderful display of pixel work. They look like the Gameboy’s attempt and doing a CG or FMV intro to an F1 game. It’s very retro and very cool. (oh FMV stands for Full Motion Video if you’re young)

Of course, I could have just taken some images and taken them into Photoshop to achieve the same result but there is some much more comforting about these because they are original and taken with some really old tech. Love them.

Take a look at some of the snaps below, and head over here to see more.
