There’s a shiny art book available now for the NEOGEO and it’s beautiful.
If you’re as old as me, you’ll remember the days of walking in and out various electrical and gaming shops just because they had a NEOGEO on display. NEOGEO was arguably the first console to bring arcade quality games to the home, but at a cost.
The giant cartridges set you back anywhere between £100-200 this became the Rolls Royce of consoles, the holy grail. A gaming machine we could only dream of owning.
To celebrate this monster of a console made by a small firm from Osaka called Shin Nihon Kikaku – or SNK – as it’s better known. Bitmap Books are launching a fantastic new art book full of visuals of the hardware, characters and concepts that helped make the NEOGEO the gaming console of dreams. Also included in the book are exclusive interviews with key staff integral to the NEOGEO’s history. Pick up the book here.
Collated and photographed from all over the world, each visual has been handpicked to appear in this exclusive book – the first officially licensed art book of its kind!
