It seems that the likes of PUBG and Fortnite have a lot to answer for, that is if you were looking forward to a single player campaign for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
According to sources close to Polygon, Black Ops 4 will not feature a traditional single-player campaign, instead, it seems the focus will be on a new Battle Royale mode and more emphasis on the popular Zombies mode. This would make Black Ops 4 the first Call of Duty game to not feature a single player campaign. One of the sources stated that Treyach will put more emphasis on cooperative modes as a stand-in for the traditional single-player experience.
These sorts of things can usually be taken with a pinch of salt, but it seems sources close to Kotaku have also confirmed the absence of a single player campaign in favour of a Battle Royale mode.
What do you think? good idea considering the success of Fornite, or would you still like to have a single player campaign?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set for release on Oct 12 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. More details will be revealed on May 17 during a Black Ops 4 reveal.
