Back in the day, Capcom realised they had hit the right formula with the Resident Evil games, fixed perspective rendered background and a 3D character to move freely around them. Sounds kinda awful now but back then it was dope. Spawning from Resident evil Capcom then went on to release Dino Crisis and Onimusha.

Dino Crises and Onimusha although getting sequels never quite followed the success of Resident Evil.so it’s absolutely awesome news that Capcom has now filed for trademark applications for Onimusha. In case you didn’t know Onimusha used Japan’s historic figures that shaped Japan’s history, retelling their stories with supernatural elements. Gameplay was third-person action-adventure along with combat and puzzle solving. It was great and to date is Capcom’s seventh best-selling franchise.

It’s not clear if this is a brand new game or an HD remake of old games. Fingers crossed it’s a new title in the franchise.

I’d love a new Onimusha – just hope it’s not for mobile devices!!
