A year after launch, Aloy’s remarkable adventure has certainly done some numbers.
Sony and Guerrilla Games have announced today that their rather splendid Horizon Zero Dawn has hit 7.6 million in sales worldwide since it’s release nearly one year ago.
The numbers, which take into account retail and digital sales and include the Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition (which bundled in the DLC The Frozen Wilds) have made the game the most successful new first-party franchise launch on PS4.
Shawn Layden, Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios;
“We are incredibly grateful that Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds have been received so positively by so many gamers and it is a testament to the fantastic work of the entire team at Guerrilla. The combination of beautiful story-telling and great characters, with excellent gameplay mechanics, has resonated well with fans and led to this exceptional sales milestone,”
To celebrate, Guerrilla are offering a variety of free downloads coming to the PSN store tomorrow, including an Avatar bundle and a brand new PS4 theme which includes the best screenshots grabbed by users around the world in Photo Mode. (We weren’t asked, but whatever). They’ll also be 40% discounts available on Horizon merchandise at the Playstation Gear store.
Congrats, Guerrilla. Onto the next one!
