There has been a distinct lack of Mortal Kombat goodness for the big screen since the ill-fated Mortal Kombat: Annihilation. But bursting forth from the Netherworld is a trailer for the feature length cartoon, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge.
Fans of the franchise will probably feel comfortably familiar with the story, if the trailer is anything to go by. There is also some fairly high profile voice talent including Community’s Joel McHale and Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter.
Though it may be animated, it’ll surely tide fans over until the next live action movie hits the screens. Simon McQuoid’s directorial debut is due out in 2021, and promises to be an R rated film, in line with the level of violence in the games.
