That game about sentient corn is coming to consoles on September 12th. A-Maize-Ing.
When Maize released on PC, it received a decidedly mixed critical response (ending up with a Metacritic score of 65). That hasn’t deterred Finish Line Games however, who have forged ahead with a port of the game for PS4 and Xbox One.
The game will be releasing on both PS4 and Xbox One on the 12th of September. The announcement comes complete with this new trailer.
Maize made a real stir with its first trailer which showed some sentient popcorn hanging around in a field and, because of the absurdity of it all, people weren’t sure if it was a real game or not. A few months later, Maize was launching onto Stream. A first person puzzle/adventure game starring chatty corncobs and a grumpy Russian robot bear which begins when two scientists misinterpret a memo from the U.S. Government and create sentient corn. Because, of course it does.
The game will cost $19.99 in America (so probably around £15 in the UK) when it launches on PS4 and Xbox One on Sept 12 but if you can’t wait that long, Maize is available now for PC through Steam, the Humble Store and GOG.
